Eco-savvy new homes are coming soon to Carlsbad, according to San Diego builder Brookfield Homes, who announced plans to open an information center Jan. 9 at Rockrose at The Foothills.
“Designed with a focus on energy efficiency, water conservation and many environmentally friendly materials, Rockrose at The Foothills is a Carlsbad new home neighborhood that offers home buyers a chance to live their lives a little greener,” said Lora Heramb, vice president of sales and marketing for Brookfield Homes. “Every one of the new single-family detached homes at Rockrose will exceed California’s standards for energy efficiency by at least 35 percent.”
Construction is now under way on the first phase of homes in a planned 101-home neighborhood at Rockrose at The Foothills. Three model homes are scheduled to open in spring 2010. The neighborhood is located off Cannon Road, just east of El Camino Real in Carlsbad. The homes are approximately three miles from the ocean.
Ranging from approximately 2,116 to 3,167 square feet, the three floor plans at Rockrose will have three to four bedrooms and two to 4.5 bathrooms. Pricing is anticipated to start in the low $600,000s. For updates as more information becomes available, join the interest list at www.brookfieldsd.com. According to Heramb at Brookfield Homes, there are more than 350 on the interest list to date.
Rockrose by Brookfield Homes is among four single-family detached neighborhoods planned for The Foothills. The master-planned community at buildout will have 404 homes on 157 acres.
Along with neighborhood construction at Rockrose, Brookfield Homes is building The Foothills Swim Club, a 2.6-acre, residents-only recreation center that will feature a resort-style swimming pool, children’s pool, picnic area with barbecues and paddle tennis courts.
Brookfield Homes also will build several neighborhood pocket parks and a trail system for the master-planned community.
Across the street from The Foothills, Carlsbad Unified School District plans to break ground in 2010 on a new high school campus that would open in fall 2013. Future phases are expected to include a fourth single-family new home neighborhood, a commercial office building and an RV storage facility. Nearly half of the property at The Foothills master planned community in Carlsbad will be preserved as permanent open space, providing a key connection to the habitat management program for the City.
Brookfield San Diego Builders, Inc. builds new homes in San Diego and Riverside counties. Brookfield currently is building in the master planned communities of The Foothills in Carlsbad, Windingwalk in Chula Vista, The Estates at StoneBridge east of Scripps Ranch in San Diego, Old Creek Ranch new homes in San Marcos and Morningstar Ranch in Winchester.
